What is CPE?
We define CPE as Cost Per Engagement. In other words, it is the price that we charge you when a prospect engages, or interacts, with an ad. In order to qualify as an "engagement" she/he has to do at least one of the following - mouseover the ad for a minimum of one second, scroll, or click on the banner.
How is my CPE rate calculated and what can I do to lower it?
Your CPE rate is dependent upon two factors - the volume of your ad impressions that we serve and your subsequent engagement rate. The higher your engagement rate and volume of impressions, the lower your CPE will be. For billing purposes, your daily CPE is based on the performance of your ad for the past week.
Will I be charged each time someone mouses over the ad or each time someone hits the scroll button?
NO. The maximum we charge is once per impression. For example, if a user scrolls through the product, then goes away then returns and interacts with the same ad again, we only charge you once.
How do I know which products will be displayed to my customers?
Right now only the products you manually enter into your inventory will be randomly displayed. However we are rapidly working on a feature that will allow you to choose which products will be displayed and how. For example, we will allow you to select us to automatically display the items which are based upon the information that we collect on the user from your website OR you can choose to only show certain products which you would like to promote. Eventually we will provide you with an entire suite of inventory tools where you will be able to easily choose which products to show and how across several banners that you create.
Why can't I see my ads on a site where I recently saw one?
Because of the relationships that our ad network has with each of the publishers, we may not be serving all the ads on that publisher site. For example, we may only be serving 20% of the impressions. Also, keep in mind that we limit the number of ads that we show to each user ID to a maximum of five per day. If we have already served five ads to you within that day, you will not see be seeing any more ads.
Am I charged if someone accidentally moves their mouse over the ad?
We only charge you if a user, at a minimum, hovers their mouse over the ad unit for greater than 1 second. By applying a filter of one second this eliminates the accidental "fly-over" of a mouse.
What if I want to use other sizes besides a 728x90?
Using our Banner Builder you can design your 728x90 and then we will automatically transfer your design to a 160x600 and 300x250 size ad unit. This way you can be up and running with all three ad sizes in just a matter of minutes.
Am I allowed to use an image or logo that I found somewhere else?
As stated in our user agreement, you are solely responsible for the images that you choose to use in your banners. Veruta is neither responsible nor liable for any trademark or copyright infringement that occurs as a result of an image being used in an advertisement that we serve. (Can you tell that our lawyers made us say this?) Look, just be sure to use images that either you created or purchased yourself, those that you know do not have any digital rights associated to them.
